Originally from Columbia, Maryland, and raised in Baltimore County, Ms. Walters carries her roots with her in her tireless pursuit of justice. She is a proud graduate of Howard University and St. Thomas University School of Law, where she honed her legal skills through rigorous academic work, membership on the Law Review, and participation on the prestigious Trial Team.
Ms. Walters began her legal career as an Assistant Public Defender, gaining invaluable courtroom experience and sharpening her skills as an advocate for those whose voices often go unheard. She also broadened her expertise working at a prominent civil litigation firm and an insurance company, where she built significant knowledge in insurance defense, automobile negligence, premises liability, and personal injury claims.
Driven by a passion for justice and a desire to serve her community, Ms. Walters founded The Law Office of Cortney E. Walters, PLLC, focusing on civil rights and personal injury law.
